Was excited to play here after about a 5 year hiatus but was seriously disappointed almost right from the start. What used to be a great course with solid layouts from tee to green has become a disgrace. Tees were uneven weed fields with half of them dead weeds. Fairways were hard to find because they were unkept and no definitive cut between “fairways” and rough. Greens were atrocious with more dead spots than grass with many areas just putting over sand. They no longer have GPS carts either. Rented clubs and got a mismatched set with different shafts and grips on each. Got a putter that the grip was falling apart in my hands. Destroyed my shirts as I could not get the black stuff off my hands and inadvertently would hit my shirt. So disappointed in my experience. Will not be returning anytime soon.
My first time playing here, my group of friends booked the tee time. I was NOT looking forward based on reviews. I had a GREAT time! Love the layout. Love the 3 different 9 hole courses. Driving range, putting green. I was surprisingly happy with everything. Tee boxes good shape, fairways very decent. The greens are a tad thick but in great shape for the most part, and putting us actually quite nice.
Grand Palms Golf course has a lot of potential but as it is, it’s a mediocre facility. The course layout is excellent. It is challenging and fun to play and the fairways are in great shape. But the greens are horrible, with lots of dead patches as if it was sprayed with weed killer in circular patches. Management has been promising repairs but I haven’t seen much progress. Also, the restaurant is rarely open and there is no refreshment cart, at least on weekdays. Maybe because there aren’t enough clients to make it worthwhile, probably because of the condition of the greens. The carts are in good shape and the staff is friendly. I hope that they can get the greens repaired soon. If they do, I will revise my review and probably play there more.
