Course is in terrible shape, especially since it just reopened after being closed for a couple of months to improve the course, very disappointing, and now they seem to be trying to charge as a higher quality course but it is not. There are much nicer courses for the same money. The upside is you do see a lot of cool wildlife, but not worth the greens being so bad, they did get new carts which are nice and the staff is always pleasant but, still disappointing for the price. In response to the reply The weather is obviously always a factor in the condition of a golf course and every course in the area deals with the same weather including rain and hurricanes, the course is in about the same condition as it has always been, which is fine for what it is, I was expecting more after a fresh remodel and there are just nicer courses for the same money.
Course was in great condition. Provided a good challenge for a seasoned golfer. Nice get away with the scenery and animal life. Pro shop staff was cheerful.
Despite some of the negative reviews about ELGC, my son and I booked a round because it was close to Marco Island. The course did not disappoint. The round was discounted (maybe summer rates) and we teed off before 0900. The staff were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The course was as advertised with water on almost every hole, so if you’re a high handicap golfer like me bring plenty of balls. We saw lots of wild life including gators. It was a great round and finished under four hours. If you’re in the area check out Eagle Lakes for a nice FL golf experience.
