What people say about (Lake Wales Country Club)

richard mcadams

I am saddened and disappointed with the service I received on 06/19/2025. At about 5:30pm, I was approached by a staff member by the name of Rodney. He preceded to rush me because he was ready to leave. There was no other players on the course in front or behind me, so I was taking my time. I hit a couple on balls off the 18th tee and then gathered them. Well, Rodney disapproved of me hitting multiple balls off the tee and I was taking my time (why not, there was no one around). I let Rodney know how I felt about the situation then I left. I go to this course once or twice a week. I never complain about the conditions or the price. I was treated unfairly. I've seen many times players finishing late and park the cart by the cart return area, which I've done many times myself. I know we live in a fast pace, crazy world and I truly hope it had nothing to do with me being African American. I will not be returning to Lake Wales course and neither will my friends.

This course should be rated a negative 10. The tee boxes and fairways are 90% dirt. The greens are a 8. Too sad that this course has been run down. It used to be one of the premier golf courses in Polk County.

We were a group of five. Booked two tee times but they only put us down for one. The guy told us no problem - we could go together. The guy running the pro shop couldn’t figure out how to run the computer so it took 10 minutes to collect our money. The boss and his group of eight played behind up and though they only caught us at one hole, sent the ranger after us to play in two groups (our original plan). They didn’t play any better or faster than we were. 🤣🤣🤣🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ 1:45 minutes to play nine holes and they were nowhere in sight so we were “rushed” for nothing.
