Deer Island Country Club

We LOVED this course! It is in great shape, lots of water (almost every hole), good pace of play and friendly staff. There were lots of gators around to add to the experience. The greens run true and smooth. There is a temporary green on 13 due to hurricane damage so can’t wait to play again as looks challenging. Well worth heading there for a great round.

I wanted to keep this amazing golf course by myself by not sharing publicly. But this golf course is beyond what I expected and I feel obligated to share some information. Some cons. 1) Not fully recovered from Hurricane Milton and some holes are not in decent shape. 2) Looks like they don’t care about the clubhouse’s aesthetic. But who cares? 3) Carts are not equipped with GPS. Besides these aforementioned shortfalls, everything else about this golf course is just about perfect. Probably the most picturesque golf course in the area (especially the front nines near the lake). Fairways are deceptively wide but your tee shots need to be accurate because every holes, I mean every holes require a tee shot over a lake or a pond. And probably half the greens are semi-island greens, so your iron shot needs to be accurate. Green conditions are not the best, but you will get “true rolls.” 1 hr driving from Orlando and the driving is pleasant and totally worth it. Can’t wait to go back.

What a wonderful place. The golf course is in a lovely setting and was very playable but still a good challenge. The welcome from the staff was fantastic too. So friendly. Highly recommend it. (Never seen so many Gators up close!)
