What people say about (Old Corkscrew Golf Course)

Well, where do I start. A group of us went to the west coast from miami for two out of the 8 big birthdays. Was a wonderful trip at all other 3 other golf course but the Old Corkscrew golf course. This course looks wonderful from the website but let me tell you the greens are in real bad shape. To make it worse they charge full rack rate. We talked to everyone on the outside about how bad the greens are in and most of them said it’s been bad for years. We were mislead from the start. Talking to the other courses in the area they all think that is misleading the public what they are doing. But, it gets better, they will take your money all the way till the course closes for Reno’s. Let’s see if the GM responds to this message. I encourage anyone that has been there and feels mislead to put a review in! Photos never lie !

Was looking forward to playing this track and heard many stories on the difficulty of the layout. We were told in the pro shop that 6 greens or so were having a fungus issue but it turned out almost all of their greens basically were unplayable. We also didn’t see any grounds crew working on the course or especially on the greens during our round which is troublesome. Charging guests $190 to play this track is ridiculous and a travesty in my opinion. This course should be closed until these greens are even playable or maybe charge $40 for cart fees only at most. The layout is actually nice but really no point of playing golf here when you can’t even use the green complexes. The pro shop did give us vouchers to use before 4/1/26 after we complained but this course right now is merely a money grab unfortunately. I’m an avid golfer and have played some of the best courses in the country but these conditions could have been the worst I’ve seen. We tried to make the best of it during this fathers and sons round but do better Hoffman companies…

Don't go until they have fixed the greens! It is a terrible shame that this terrific course has unplayable greens. There has been a fungus or something and large sections of grass is just gone and replaced with sand. The layout, the challenge, the entire golf course is outstanding -- but the experience is completely ruined because most of the time you are landing on sand, or putting across sand. What grass they do have is not cut (likely to promote new growth?) But in the end, it is a shame. They are supposed to notify you as you are paying your $190 to go play, but they forgot to tell us. Honestly, they should disclose it on the website and the price should be cut dramatically. I would love to come back -- and will -- but only when the greens are back to what Jack intended.
