What people say about (Airways Golf)

Andrew McCann

The course is fine. Cheap and what you’d expect but that girl behind the counter is the rudest person ever. I hope she is the owner because I’d hate that she represents my business that way. Never had had a good experience with her but the course is fine

The course was in better shape before I played. I like to play Airways. It's relatively flat , which fits my 80+ year old body, and mostly straightaway. If you hit 250-275 off the tee, and have a good short game, you probably would be happier on a more challenging course. On the other hand, if you have only the faintest idea where and how far your ball will go, the wide fairways trimmed roughs are for you. The people are friendly and the carts are kept in good condition. Enjoy.

I would strongly recommend avoiding this course. If you look at the courses in the area, there's a reason it's the cheapest and lowest rated. Do yourself a favor and drive the difference to Agawam Municipal if you want a course that's more well maintained, friendlier, and better in every way except price, which can be very comparable. I can regularly find a hot deal for a weekday 18 with a cart at Agawam for less than $25 after taxes. I called today at about 1:00, asking if I could get in 18 because I wanted a place to play on short notice. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone told me if I went before 3, I would be fine because they had leagues starting at 4. I hurry up and get ready and drive 35 minutes to get there. I arrived at 2:15 and explained to the guy at the pro shop counter that I called and was told I could get in 18 if I went before 3. He responded with, "Well, you didn't talk to me. You can play 9." I politely asked,"You guys have leagues starting at 4, right?" He said yes. I tried to calmly reason with him, saying, "If they tee off on 1 and 10, then I will be through 10 holes before 4, so I'll be no factor for them." However, he interrupted me about 10 words into my sentence and rudely said,"You can get in 9" so I walked out. I had been here before. It's a dumpy course that is about as basic as a golf course layout can possibly get. It would be just passable enough to play if you're desperate, but the rude weirdos running it push it to the point of unplayable, as far as I'm concerned. I'll never be back under any circumstances. I drove 35 minutes each way to talk to some grumpy old clown that has no idea how to talk to people. Cons: No driving range Very basic layout Poorly maintained Terrible customer service Pros: Cheap (you get what you pay for) Like I said near the beginning of this review, just do yourself a favor and go play Agawam Municipal instead. It's not far away and is miles better than Airways, which is the second worst course (Wyckoff being #1) I've played from Manchester, CT to Bernardston, MA.
