Connecticut National Golf Club

Recently played a round and it was one of the best public courses I've played on. The fairways are well maintained as are the greens. The carts are solid and the course is generally in good shape. The greens fee with a cart is well worth it especially when they include range balls with your tee time. The views are better than you'd expect and the course is fun and challenging.

I played Connecticut National for the 1st time last summer, and was disgusted with myself for not getting up there years earlier. I loved it. Both times I visited last summer, the course conditions were stellar. From the tee boxes through the fairways (and rough) to the smooth putting surfaces, the course impressed. What makes CT National so much fun, is the variation from hole to hole, and throughout the round. Rather than one too-long cookie-cutter par 4 after the next, at CT National no two holes look or play the same. While Connecticut National offers plenty of birdie opportunities, it's by no means a cupcake. There are a few holes sprinkled throughout the round, where you'll breathe a sigh of relief walking off after making a bogey. Too many golf courses use the term "Hidden Gem" when describing their clubs, when most are far from a gem, and would be better off staying hidden. Director of golf Jim West runs the true "Hidden Gem" of CT golf, and possibly all of New England. CT Nationali GC is that good! If you're a Connecticut golfer, do whatever it takes to find Connecticut National GC.

The Course is in great shape for a good price. The temporary club house works out just fine. Go enjoy a round!
