What people say about (Skungamaug River Golf Club)

Tim Costello

Pace of play nightmare and the course doesn’t care. Took a foursome 26 minutes to play hole number 4. There were 3 groups backed on the 4th tee waiting, while the group in front of us was waiting in the fairway for this foursome to finish. The group in front of this foursome was putting on hole 6 and they hadn’t even made it to 5. I’ve never once called a pro shop to complain but I did this time. And the owner John had the audacity to come out and just say “oh it’s a busy day, and there is a group in front of them” meanwhile seeing with my own 2 eyes that there was no group in site ahead of this nightmare foursome. No ranger and they do not care about or enforce pace of play or starting tee times. Do not recommend.

Great day at the skunk. Greens were in great shape. Beautiful fall day in October.

Great place to get out and play. 18 hole public course with a fantastic little beer tavern to boot. The staff and pro are always very friendly and make accommodations for short notice tee times. The driving range is full grass, which is good and bad depending on who is using it. It would be nice to have a mat area for those who do not play often.
