What people say about (Gillette Ridge Golf Club)

If I would have rated this course a couple years ago it would have been 3 stars, but I play it once a year and it has improved tremendously. I just played last Friday and it was in excellent condition. Cart service was great and the staff was great.

One of the best and my favorite course in CT. Great layout, challenging, technical, etc... Been here many times, but today, I wasn't very happy from the get-go. First, the positives. Great weather! Perfect weather for golf in the 70's, cloudy. Makes playing here even more enjoyable. Fairway great condition. Rough... well, very rough. Negative. Greens... slow and still recovering from aeration. My putts were bouncing like crazy, and barely broke, when it looked like it should. Pace... 3:46 tee-time, already pushed but 20 minutes, not to mention that there were no available carts! I had to wait a llloooonnnngggg time for the next cart. I'm thinking "where's the ranger?" Pace2... slow. There was a family of three in front of us, walking and all of them (mom, older son, younger son) were not good. Total beginners. Good thing they only played 9 and got out but man, it took us more than 2.5 hours to finish the front 9. I called the golf shop on 3rd hole to complain and ask for the ranger. Bottom line. WHen the weather is nice, be prepared to be delayed and I would not expect to complete the course in less than 5 hours. You've been warned..

Gorgeous. Might be my new favorite. Seems like most courses now are only challenging because they're long, you definitely need to consider strategy on almost every hole here. If you step into the box and try to blast 300 yards drives on every hole you are gonna have a bad time.
