This is merely and update regarding our 2021 Safari Club Adventure was even more spectacular than the last time we visited. Course is in GREAT shape and your pro, Eddie White, as well as the complete staff, we absolutely a delight to work with. The Safari Club of Golf had its inaugural adventure to Fox Hopyard on September 4. With well over one-hundred of our members in attendance we can all rate the experience right up there with the best! Unfortunately, the greens had recently been punched, but management made us aware of that fact going into the event. But we had that one date available and decided to proceed anyway. Maybe one of the best decisions we made in a long time. Heck, anyone with even a modicum of golf sense realizes punching greens is one of those necessary evils that all courses face this time of year. However, just the layout and facilities themselves leave one in awe of this place. Panoramic views abound all while playing 18 spectacular holes of golf that consist of many traditional New England style holes, coupled with some European links style holes to boot. You kind of get a two-fer when playing this spectacular golf course. Many of our members already expressed their desire in having Fox Hopyard included on our regular Safari Club Adventures for next season. That kind of sums things up pretty well.
My BF golfed here on Friday, June 18, 2021 and I just rode along in the cart. I asked him to give his review because I feel like there were a lot of negative reviews that were no longer applicable. The Tee boxes and greens in good condition, greens recently aerated, greens ran true. GPS on carts sometimes wacky saying get out of the woods when you’re actually on the cart path and all you can do is go in reverse at that point but maybe they were working out the kinks. A little pricey, but quick efficient check in and a super friendly starter and all in all a really nice course. The starter did mention they had a hurricane last fall that left them without power for one and a half weeks and that could explain a lot of the poor reviews last fall of people stating that the greens were burnt out etc. But it all looks pretty good now so give it a try!
We are full-time wedding photographers who did not have the pleasure of working at the Fox Hopyard Golf Club until the summer of 2024. It dawned on us that we once dined at the private club as we drove on to the property for the wedding day, and we instantly knew we were in for a great wedding. The course and clubhouse, restaurant and bridal suite - it’s all extraordinary and welcoming, as was the staff once again. They had a lock on all the day’s events, kept providing our couple with all they needed, and went out of their way to make sure we had a fantastic meal as well. Melanie was superb in her communications, keeping the itinerary on target with us, and in caring about all the little details that matter so much on a wedding day. It was a bit rainy, but we avoided that as best we could and sneaked in some shots outside when possible on the beautiful course. We had known our bride and groom for over a year, spoken with them often, and done their complimentary engagement photos, and this good relationship with such couples means they will tell you all the good and the bad of the venue on the day, anything that is wrong or frustrating them, and so on. They had nothing but great things to say about how the wedding went at Fox Hopyard and all the staff as well. They even made sure to get the floating candles in the glasses up right at the perfect moment before guests came in prior to the reception. We would be absolutely thrilled to book more weddings here and hope to be back ASAP! While this is written from the perspective of a small business owner, this is an unbiased and unsponsored review, and we appreciated the sensational first visit with hopefully many more to come.
