We have been golfing here for years...always been a fun, community golf course. The new owners need to change things back and fast before they lose all their customers. Do you actually think people are going to pay $800 for a golf sweater?? Bring back the Nike, Adidas, etc....it is insane that you even thought this was a good idea. And your fees??? Seriously? this is a 9 hole executive course....you have increased the prices to the point where we are looking elsewhere to go. The only bright spot in our whole experience yesterday were the boys in the pro-shop...CARTER and JAMES. They were super thoughtful and friendly and the only good thing about this place right now. It is so unfortunate for all the locals that live around here and have been coming here for years. The new owners better change things up and fast.
I took a lesson with Matt B. yesterday. I could tell he was an experienced coach. He diagnosed issues with my swing and gave me some exercises to try, and I saw an improvement right away. I liked his approach of explaining the reasons for his changes and the physics of the swing, in easy to understand terms. He was very friendly and supportive. I will definitely be coming back for more lessons.
I am torn between a 3 and 4 here, but 3.5 is not an option. Staff very friendly here. It really is a great layout, amazing scenery at times. But......this is not a course for golfers who average over 95 on other 18-hole tracks. Quite "hilly", but I grew up on Richmond, BC courses, so everything is "hilly" to me! It took 5-1/2 hours to play. The group behind us, who were regulars, hit into us on three occasions, even though you can see where the people in front of you are on the screens on your carts. On one hole on the back nine, there were four groups waiting on the tee, and possibly would have been more if groups didn't start quitting and driving by. The greens can be very fast and the rough tough. That being said, I have heard good things about the new owner(s) and appreciated the improvements taking place, especially getting rid of the rock-fill in the bunkers to fluffy white sand. For reference, I am a 23-handicap. At $140 for the green fee (including half a cart), in addition to approximately $40 in golf balls lost, that's too much for a golfer of my caliber. This course is a gem for better players, but it's just not for me.
