Bartley Cavanaugh Golf Course

I love Bartley, it’s my favorite of the City courses. It isn’t a hard track, pretty short compared to most. You can definitely put up a nice score out there but it has enough variety to keep it interesting. Conditions are usually pretty good- I have never played it and felt like it was in bad shape with the weather considered. Staff is always really nice, they probably have the most consistent beverage cart program in Sac, and the food is good in the clubhouse. Pace of play is pretty much the same as any other muni around here so I don’t see it as anything worth complaining about. Overall just a good, solid local course that my friends and I always have a fun round at ✅

I’m local to the area and played a twighlight round there today. I used to play here a lot, at least once or twice a week but the rude staff (starters and water guy) has ruined the experience. No longer will be spending my money here again. The water guy who comes around was extremely rude enforcing a no 5-some rule when there was no one behind us for 2 holes. Our group consisted of 3 walkers and 2 riders. It’s a Sunday afternoon round with barely anyone out there and dude had a power trip. There’s ways to communicate your course rules, but don’t be a prick about it. Great way to lose business with someone who plays 60+ rounds a year.
