Just a great public golf course… designed to challenge the amateur golfer 🏌️♂️ & best undertaken with a keen knowledge that wayward shots will often disappear ( unrecoverable) into the forested-side ravines , hillocks, & other undesirable circumstances… but for those ready to employ some basic course management shots… will love the whole experience!
One of our families favorite places to go on the weekend. We go to the driving range which is family friendly... always greeted with a happy hello from staff. Facilities are well maintained. The restaurant menu is limited, but OK. Really think they need to be a bit more diverse in the menu. The quality of food is great, and open deck seating is nice as well.
Don’t get me wrong, I like DeLaveaga. The course is fun and challenging with elevation changes throughout. The back nine is a test of placement with tree lined corridors and narrow fairways. The problem is this course isn’t maintained like it used to be. Crabgrass or dead grass shouldn’t be within range of the tee shot. Fairway bunkers have weeds thriving. This level of neglect shouldn’t be acceptable even for a muni course. DeLaveaga is such a great layout and could be wonderful with more attention from the groundskeeping crew.
