Turlock Golf & Country Club

Beautiful golf course. Greens rolled true, and were fairly quick for two weeks after aeration. fairways were lush, and closely mown. Didn't see a grass blade out of place.

Two stars for the design and overall enjoyability of the golf course. Grooming is excellent. Unfortunately, this review takes issue with staff - from the pro shop to the general manager. After playing a tournament, I left my laser range finder attached to the golf cart. I made prepaid arrangements for the return of my laser via FedEx. Three full days after receiving the material from me, the return package had still not made it to FedEx. I called the pro shop and was told "yes, it's right here but FedEx hasn't been here yet". Midweek the following week after no progress I left a voicemail for the general manager. Now 12 days after receiving the return packaging and no progress on the other end I finally had to arrange for a FedEx pick up myself, after which my package was finally received by me nearly two weeks after they had the return materials. I understand that it's my fault the device was left there, and that I'm not a member so there's no upside to helping me out, but one would think someone there would have the wherewithal to do a guy a solid. Apparently not.

We were guests at a charity event at the club. I've golfed here before as well as had been invited to other functions. The course is fun and playable, even for a novice golfer. The food is pretty good. It's the wonderful staff though that makes the club all the better. Many are younger, late teens and early 20's. They are attentive and polite. It's always a wonderful time at the country club.
