Nice golf course. We walked on without a tee time and was able to play the south course. It's a nice military course that is kept up pretty well. Not a lot hills, so its easier to walk if one wanted to. Tee boxes: Nice tees boxes, the grass was good and no sand. Most of the holes the forward and regular tees were not far apart. Biggest difference would be on the par 3's. Fairways: The fairways were cut nicely and easy to hit off. A few fairways had some dirt patches, but it's summer time here and dry. You can definitely tell where the fairway ends and the rough begins, which is nice for aiming purposes. There a trees on the course, most holes have a few. Some holes do have a lot trees to seperate them from an adjacent hole. There are some water hazards, but not much, just look ahead or on the gps. Rough: Most of the rough is not to thick and not bad hitting out of, won't affect your shots to much. There are patches of thick rough out there that can close your club face. Bunkers: The bunkers looked to have a decent amount of sand to hit a splash shot out. Luckily we didn't go in a bunker, but our playing partners did, and they splashed it out pretty easy. Greens: In my opinion, this is where this course shines. The greens were very well maintained. The ball rolled real smooth and didn't bounce around. If the ball did bounce, it was due to a divot marks that someone earlier didn't fix. It was also easy to get spin on wedge shots and chips. Amenities: -Putting area - there are a couple of putting areas to practice on before the round. In good shape. -Short game - also a nice short game area to practice chipping -Driving range - there is a driving range on property that looks nice. We didn't hit there, but looks like mats only. -Restaurant and bar - there is one here, but we not partake this trip. The carts are nice with a small GPS on-board that gave you the distance to the front, middle and back of the greens. Also gave you a good overview of the hole. We had fun out here. The staff were interacted with were great and friendly. If we are in the area again, we will likely come back and try the north course.
