What people say about (Sundale Country Club)

Brian Davis

I'm not a member but a Kern City resident. I must say the general landscape maintenance around the entire golf course is sadly very unattractive and uninviting. We walk our dogs every morning and are constantly reminded of the lack of care it gets. There are weeds everywhere. When they do decide to kill some weeds they just leave the dead ones where they were. Weeds and tall grass around poles everywhere. I know it's not an upscale course like Seven Oaks or Stockdale but, for crying out loud, take some pride in its appearance. It's sad and embarrassing. Pictures are along Pebble Beach Drive and Sundale Avenue. Update: I was pleasantly surprised to see that within one week of posting this review that the landscaping issues had been taken care of! Thank you, Sundale CC for taking my concerns seriously and resolving the issue. I know it's not really my place but as a concerned resident it really was an eyesore. Keep up the good work.

This is now the Petroleum Club, but put aside your old concept of that restaurant. Sure they have a dress code, but it is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, with new location, menu, and amenities. They're still working on the outdoor venue (it's 105° today, so...no. ) But the dining room is sleek, air-conditioned, and overlooks the driving range (also empty at 105°). The menu is full of yummy reasonably-priced items. Service was unhurried and pleasant, and the food was worth every penny. Our table ordered the club sandwich, pecan strawberry chicken salad, salmon salad, and the special of the day grilled mushroom and onion sandwich on parmesan bread. Everything was amazing, but I only took pics of the grilled sandwich. Dress up a little, and go there!!!

It's not a bad course, but not one I recommend to those looking for a track to enjoy. Keep looking.
