Fair Oaks Golf Club

We booked a tee time at 1:40 pm. Rain stopped at 9 AM. Make a 40 minute drive to the course which was closed. No communication to us was provided. While we understand weather is uncontrollable, should at least communicate closing to patrons. Poor client service.

We rented the Clubhouse for my in-laws 50th Wedding Anniversary this past weekend. The venue was PERFECT for this event. Very affordable and the staff was very generous with their time and assistance in making this part a success. Jennifer went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. She was very responsive and available to our needs. If you are considering hosting an event at the Clubhouse don't hesitate....it was wonderful and affordable and we got top notch service.

*** time for an update*** I’ll leave original review below. The course is in excellent shape!!! There are some bunkers that need more sand no doubt, that is the only knock on this course right now. IT IS IN GREAT SHAPE and we just finished a round in less than four hours here on a Sunday morning. We left Memphis National as members and will be playing here more often now, if they keep it up I’ll continue to update the stars/review. The staff here is still great. Greens are rolling so true and pure now. I’ve lived in Oakland about 3 miles from the course for 2 years and play golf at least once a week, usually two or more times… but Fair Oaks is so poorly managed I rarely ever play there. It was 62 and sunny today and per usual, their driving range was closed, it’s closed more often than it is open. Whenever I play here you can nearly guarantee it’s going to be 4+ hrs and waiting all day long on the course because they jam it pack full of tee times. Last year, 2023, the course was noticeably worse condition than it was in 2022. It would be a one star review but because the people are nice and they have a decent clubhouse for snacks and drinks at the turn, they get 2 stars. I WISH THEY WOULD OPEN THE RANGE MORE AND STOP PACKING THE SCHEDULE. The track is easy and fun to play.
