This course is beautiful it’s well maintained and challenging to play. However 2 times in a row I have only been able to play part of the course due to the incredibly slow pace of play. And allowing groups of more than four on the course. Groups will cut into play at the turn and you will have 20-plus minute waits to tee off on the back nine. There are no Marshall’s so it becomes pandemonium once everyone tees off.
I cannot say enough good things about this course and my 1st-time experience there on Fri., 6/28/2024. The course was in wonderful condition: very lush, the greens were quick-paced and true, and this was after a scramble tournament that morning. I was amazed that the greens weren’t bumpy after that. Another really cool feature/benefit: freight trains regularly roll through the course during your round, and it is the coolest thing! [Especially if you love trains like I do.] I think this course is definitely the best value in the greater Wichita area, and is surely a challenging trek, with the first nine holes hitting you with jabs until landing a haymaker on the par-5 10th “The Beast,” which at 648 yds from the tips is the longest hole in Kansas! The course then allows you to catch your breath somewhat to the finish (explains the 43-35=78 round today). What a great experience for the first annual family golf weekend for my sons & I! We will definitely be back!!
Excellent layout with challenging assortment of holes. Some long par 4,s tempered with a few shortish ones. Large greens and pins were tucked day we were there. Nice fairways with a good share of water hazards as well as tall rough. Railroad close to several holes, and course was in great shape. Will play again soon.
