What people say about (Las Barrancas Golf Course)

Douglas Dunn

The best course in Yuma. We all know the difficulty in maintaining a course in the desert southwest. Las Barrancas has done the best job of all the courses in the area of mastering this difficulty. Hats off to their grounds crew for providing a beautiful and well-maintained course. Update March 2024: The course looks better than big things are on the way. A new and modern driving range is on track to be opened in October and the new clubhouse, pro shop and restaurant should be done next year. Without any doubt Las Barrancas is the best place in SW Arizona to golf

I played at las Barrancas yesterday and after playing off and on for the last 12 years including two years with a membership I don't think I have seen it in such poor condition. The fairways were wet with not sure if it was leaks or what it was, The greens were in the poorest condition I have seen on a golf course ever. The flags on the greens looked as though they haven't been changed for months as some of them are starting to grow over the hole. I don't know if they don't have a superintendent that doesn't know what they are doing or if they just aren't spending any money on the course or both. We got to number ten and there was a single golfer that jumped in front of us and our foursome actually had to wait for him every hole ridiculous when a foursome has to wait for a single. Not a Marshal anywhere on the course. At his point in time it is in the worst shape of any course I have played in many years. There is a deal of $55.00 for 18 holes with a cart but after yesterday I think it is a solid $25- 30 dollar course. With some proper effort this could be a great course as it has a great layout.

Tee box grass longer than a tee. Fairways patched. Shrubs around several tee boxes not maintained requiring tee shots to be altered.
