Golf course fine. A lot of dead spots on greens but that happens. Views and fairways top notch. What could be drastically improved is beverage service. We tried to buy beverages in clubhouse before round and bring with us as 90+ degrees. Starter indicated they will send out beverage cart on hole 1. We didn't see a beverage cart until hole 7. On the turn, golf partner dropped me off at clubhouse and I took cooler in to buy. They would only sell 2 beers per person present and my golf partner was already on 10th tee so could not show bartender who I was buying for. We are both 50+ years old. Then on back, beverage cart came on hole 12 and said this is last time we will see her. This was on a Saturday in April. Paying over $200 to golf should demand better overall experience. Lastly, on hole 2 a rattlesnake was slithering across fairway so be watchful.
Played the day before fall overseeding, and was surprised by decent conditions despite them drying the course out. Greens were in good shape, fairways wide and forgiving. My playing partner is a beginner and only lost four balls. Compared to other course in the metro, if you’re willing to drive a little bit to the periphery, this is a good value course. Started was as nice as could be, water and food cart was available on course. Plenty of interesting desert holes with topographic change that bring long vistas and reminds you of where you are in the world. Trainer jets (F-35’s?) flying overhead the whole round a major distraction for a serious golfer wanting to ‘get away from it all’ or trying to stay in the zone. Course is in a new development area of the fast, growing Buckeye, near masterplanned communities but not directly adjacent to many holes. A few bloated mansions with very bad taste are sprinkled around the course in the foothills. Bar and restaurant were enjoyable with good service and food for a course on the outskirts. Eat here rather than going into the nearby town or small strip of places by I-10 (Cheeseburgers and Beer chain down the hill is disgusting despite being new).
Make sure to call before you play. Greens were like putting in a sand trap. Completely covered in sand and rocks. Worst greens I've ever seen. Also, unless you hit dead straight every time, count on your ball being gone. The only in bounds is dead on the fairway. Bring extra balls or just go somewhere else.
