What people say about (Soldiers Creek Golf Course)

Clint Robinson

Have played here the past two days while on vacation in Gulf Shores. Very impressed with the course, the superintendent and his crew are working extremely hard to bring it greens back to life from a tough winter storm and it shows. All new carts are a pleasant surprise. Tee boxes and fairways are in good shape. Majority of the greens are in decent to good shape, being cut on the high side, while allowing the remaining affected patches from the winter to recover, you can be aggressive. Pace of play has not been an issue over the past two days as a single player. Really like the clubhouse, believe it serves as an event/wedding venue as well. Good range. Course is not overly challenging, but you will lose balls if you aren’t accurate off the tee. For the cost of a round, this course will be a 5-star review of current care trend continues. Looking forward to playing again!

I hosted a tournament at The Preserve at Soldiers Creek. Blake and her staff did an absolutely incredible job preparing everything. They made the day a success. A ton of hard work and preparation from the top down. The have a Veranda out back for entertaining that is as nice as anything you’ll find in Alabama. As for the course… The greens are coming along nicely after the crazy snow year we had on the coast and I really love how the course was designed. It is a really fun track to play.

Aship

Played here recently and forgot to post. Normally wouldn’t post but due to the experience I am. Yes the greens are very very bad and the young man told us about them and only charged us for 9 and you start on the back 9 because how awful the front 9 greens are. Still had a good time knowing what we were getting into. Decided to play the next day since they said it would still be the same price due to greens being dead and we live close. Show up and the person working on Sunday has no idea what’s going on about the greens and that they don’t know anything about charging for only for 9 holes because of this we get charged for the full 18. I’d never pay this much for how awful the course conditions are but we were all there thinking we would get the same deal they gave us the day before and they told us we would get again. We called 2 days later since we had receipts for both days and one showed we got the deal for the bad greens and then charged full price the very next day. The person we spoke to on the phone said they could not give us a refund or do anything for us. This course has even responded to reviews about how they are offering only 9 hole prices due to the course conditions. Very bad course management and no one that works there knows what’s going on. With this experience on top of how bad the course is I’d never recommend it to anyone.
