What people say about (Oak Mountain Golf Course)

Anthony Colón

Just moved to the area from Texas and decided to give this course a try since the local course in the community didn’t have the tee time I needed. Looking at other reviews I was nervous as to what to expect from the staff, however, the reverse was true. From the clubhouse, starter and marshals, everything exceeded my expectations. I decided to walk 18 on this visit and hit a small bucket before my round. Range was good, course played well, slower greens than I’m used to. Looking forward to when leaves are on trees and fairways are green. Played better than most courses in Texas where I played. For a public course, you can’t beat $50 for a Saturday morning tee time. The group they grouped me with was great! Front 9 was stacked, but at the turn it opened up where it felt like we were the only ones on the course. Finished with a 4 hour round.

Went here as a father's day gift to my step dad who's been playing golf since college, I've never really played before but he's asked me for a long time. Showed up and everyone in the club house was super nice and we started to head out. As soon as we reached hole 1, the marshal paired us up with 2 other guys that were way better than me. They teed off first and was on the green in 2 swings. We teed off and my stepdad was fine but my first hit wasn't. After walking to where I hit my first ball I took a drop bc I knew I hit it in the woods. After my second swing the marshal drove up and told us "If you are looking for a ball, you need to move it along." After him being rude to the guys that teed off with us and then rude to us we asked about a refund and he called the clubhouse to tell them about how we were complaining and to just give us a refund so we could leave. Clubhouse guys even said that that's not okay. We were there maybe 30 minutes including hitting the putting green first. Definitely made me as a new player not really want to get into the game if it's like this. Also won't be coming back here to play another round.

We’ve played a lot of courses, but this was by far one of the worst experiences I’ve had. The starter (an older, skinny man with glasses) was unbelievably rude from the moment we arrived. He spoke to us with unnecessary attitude and seemed more concerned with barking orders than creating a welcoming environment. Instead of ensuring players were having a good time, he acted like a power-tripping hall monitor—rushing us onto the course and making the whole start of the round tense and uncomfortable. Golf is supposed to be enjoyable, but this guy single-handedly killed the vibe before we even teed off. It’s a shame because the course itself might’ve been fine, but the staff’s attitude completely overshadowed that. We won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a respectful and professional golf experience.
